Cat Ba Island Cruises

To go from Hanoi to Cat Ba you need to take a private car or bus to Hai Phong and from there go to Cat Ba by means of ferry, speedboat or cable car.

• Ferry ride: You need to go to Got ferry station in Cat Hai, Hai Phong and buy a ferry ticket (about 25-30 minutes) to go to the ferry. Cai Vieng wharf on Cat Ba island. From Cai Vieng wharf, you take a bus going straight to the center of Cat Ba town (about 30-45 minutes).

• By speedboat: You go to Binh wharf, Minh Khai ward, Hong Bang district, Hai Phong to catch the speedboat to Cat Ba (about 45 minutes). Speedboats often go directly to Beo wharf in the center of Cat Ba town, so you don't have to spend more time traveling by car.

• Take the cable car: Currently, a new cable car route Cat Hai - Phu Long (Cat Ba) has been put into operation. Active from May 2020. You can go to Cat Hai station, Hai Phong to buy a cable car ticket to Phu Long station on Cat Ba island. From Phu Long station, you can catch a bus to the center of Cat Ba (about 30 minutes).

Alternatively, you can also Contact tourist bus companies in the old town such as Good Morning Cat Ba, Cat Ba Express to book a package ticket to go directly from Hanoi to Cat Ba center.

Most of the 2 days 1 night programs include kayaking and swimming in the bay, except for the Indochine cruise that combines a visit to Trung Trang cave and La Regina Grand cruise to visit Quan Y cave on Cat Ba Island. If you want to visit Cat Ba Island, you can also choose to go for the 3 days 2 nights program to participate in cycling activities to Viet Hai village on Cat Ba island. However, not all cruises have a daily 3-day 2-night program, so please contact Customer Service for specific advice.

Currently, most cruises only run the program of 2 days 1 night sleeping on board. However, we can assist you to book an extra night at hotels on Cat Ba Island. Please contact our Customer Care staff for assistance.
